The title of our group can best be translated as French for fun. And we are a fun group of a dozen to 15. We are all francophiles who have a strong affinity towards France, its culture, its history and its ambience.

Our meetings generally start with a talk from one of our members about a historical French event or personality - recently Mata Hari the French spy - or a description of a holiday in some picturesque part of France.

Then after coffee or tea - always a break for that (!) - we practise some speaking and listening to French with either some news snippets in French or a French story with some translation added on. We try hard to speak and understand French with help from some of our better speakers and most of us can get by with "un peu de francaise".
